 >  What can I do?
Discussion > Discuss this with your colleagues!
  • Recently, I was able to influence my colleagues in the area of safety.
  • There have been times when I endangered someone else due to an unsafe action.
  • I am always aware of the risks in my surroundings.
Introduction

‘Working safely’ means working in an environment in which the probability of accidents is low. Often, this probability is not low enough. You can help reduce this risk! Reinforcing your safety awareness not only is a question of learning the right things, but of DOING the right things!

Risks are often hidden in unsuspected places. At the office and the construction site this not only applies to yourself, but to visitors and local residents as well.

Risks > What can happen?

The Big Six:

  • Tripping;
  • Falling;
  • Falling objects;
  • Bumping against protruding objects;
  • Getting trapped;
  • Being hit by flying particles.

Stones on the road.
Stones tidied up.
Measures > What you must do
  • Conduct an LMRA before you start;
  • Put your tools and materials in a spot where others and yourself are not inconvenienced by them;
  • Tidy up your things (including your desk);
  • Regularly clean up any waste;
  • Use and maintain the installed safety facilities in the correct manner. Never change or remove them;
  • Do not make any changes to scaffolding without consulting your supervisor;
  • Communicate with other employees;
  • Actively participate in toolbox meetings;
  • Only make work-related calls and make them from a safe place;
  • Give compliments for safe behaviour;
  • Address each other about unsafe behaviour;
  • In case of unsafe situations, contact your supervisor;
  • Report unsafe situations to your supervisor and in the GO! app.

DESIRED SAFE BEHAVIOUR

The key to safety is to adhere to certain basic rules.

THE 6 GO (NO ACCIDENTS) RULES OF ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOUR

  • I take responsibility for my own safety and that of others;
  • In case of an unsafe situation, I immediately take action;
  • I address my colleagues about working safely;
  • I appreciate it when my colleagues address me about working unsafely;
  • I report unsafe situations so that colleagues can learn from them;
  • I discuss safety dilemmas with my supervisor.

I only start working when I am certain that I can do so safely and also that I do not endanger someone else.
